Those Dreaded Summer Words

There all the same I’m Bored, There’s Nothing to do, What can I do? These are all the phrases as parents we hear once school is out. There is no stopping them!

this is a conversation I heard between my husband and my six year old while I was upstairs.
Of course imagine my daughter asking this question in a very whiny desperate, life is going to end kind of way.

My Daughter: Dad What can I do?

Husband: How about color?

Daughter: No I don’t want to do that. what can I do?

Husband: Eat (That would of been my solution)

Daughter: Nope What can I do?

Husband: What about playing the Wii?

Daughter: yeah I want to do that

So two minutes passed while my Husband was setting it up

Daughter: What can I do?

Husband: You just said the Wii, I am setting it up

Daughter. Oh yeah I forgot.

I love how that phrase was so cemented in her mind that not even a solution stopped her from saying it.

and the summer has just begun!

    >HAHA! I would have been all over the Wii. We don't have a Wii at my house yet.

    Soon, I hope. :)

    >So far, our summer has been a little crazy. But my daughter has been starting to pull those words out and use them! Ack!

    >I dread hearing those words. This summer I think I will assign chores when they find themselves incapable of self entertainment.
