Simulated Misery

I don’t know if I have mentioned this. But for the 08-09 school year my family and I lived near Houston Texas My Husband taught Junior high there. It was an awesome experience but not so awesome traveling 1600 miles twice in 10 months.

While we were there (of course it would happen while we were there) There was a hurricane. Hurricane Ike to be exact. We evacuated and spent 5 days in a tiny KOA cabin. Where we got so stir crazy with me being newly pregnant and my then only 2 energetic girls. Lets just say it was not the best experience. We were fine though and very blessed and came away unscathed when a lot of people lost so much.

Fast forward to a little while ago when my family and I were walking around in the mall and saw one of these strange machines.

Seriously? A hurricane simulator?. Who would want to subject themselves to that. As inaccurate as I am sure it is. I think we all have better things to do. So odd and strange, especially after witnessing something that is so obviously unpleasant.

I think that would be about the same as a root canal simulator.. Sign me up!

HA! That is so funny. Ummm pain is fun? Maybe that’s their marketing strategy.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Who would want to pay to experience a hurricane? We get them here in Connecticut too, and they aren’t fun!

On another note, I recently received the Sunshine Award and would like to pass it on to you. (You may have already received one in the past, but I just wanted to acknowledge your great blog.)

I hope you have a great week!
