Back to One

My Mother in law took my 2 oldest the other day for an afternoon of fun. They went to a movie and then of course to Mcdonald’s. Is there any other place in the world kids like better? I wish there was. That left my husband and I and my 1 year old to ourselves wondering what to do with the time.

We decided to go shopping after all it is much easier with one child then with 3 right? It was. I was having a hard time deciding what shoes to buy. It’s funny that I ended up buying the exact same shoes I already have just in a different color. Pink! I now have pink shoes! (That is besides the fact) but here is a picture.

I am glad squeal was in squeaky shoes because we could hear her squeaking the whole time so she did not wander too far away. We also went to lunch, Squeal was exhausted we kept on putting off her nap and she wasn’t having it. It was still easier than having 3.

once we did get home and get her off to sleep there was just enough time for me to take a nap! I get as excited for naps these days as my girls get for Christmas. At what point did I start getting so sleepy that I needed to nap during the day? oh right.. when I had kids! I also happen to be staying up way too late after the kids go to sleep which is also late because it’s summer.

I was definitely glad to see my kids when they got home from there day with Grandma. But is it rude to say that it was nice having just one again for a little bit?

It is nice to be responsible for just one child from time to time. I have 3 myself and while they are very good when we run errands…it is still three. I like “one” for the fact that you can slow everything down and really just give them their time. It is peaceful and fun. I did this over the weekend. It was “tax-free” weekend in our area of the state and I took my kids one at a time to purchase new shoes. It was fabulous. It was crowded, but it didn’t seem so bad since I just had one little person to watch. Although I did miss my little entourage (and would not trade them for the world), it also made trying on all the different shoes a lot less tense!
