My daughter is on to my crazy shenanigans

I don’t think anything about me surprises my daughter Shout any more. She is so used to my crazy antics that she does not even flinch.

while handing over her lunch the other day I suddenly got the urge to dance to the music from some cartoon theme song that was playing on t.v. I don’t mean dance just like at a Jr high school dance where you sway from back forth shifting your weight from one foot to the next foot with your arms squarely on the shoulder of some boy, wondering when the Song “Lady in Red” is going to end. I mean all out dancing like totally grooving to the song, it was awesome. I think I even did a Pirouette.

With out even blinking during my impromptu dance number Shout told me that Squeal looked thirsty and asked me if I could get her a drink.

Since when did she become the adult in this house hold?

Science Project Idea

What do you get when you try four different kind’s of popcorn to see which one pops the most?

A  Fun 2nd grade science project!

Shriek wanted to participate in the science fair this year. The Umpire helped her. They worked really hard and ended up with a great science project that they had a lot of fun with. I think they also had some really fun daddy daughter time.

What they did was choose four different kinds of pop corn

  • Jiffy Pop
  • Microwave Bag
  • kernals on the stove
  • Microwave Bucket

They popped them all for the same amount time and counted the kernals that did not pop and the popped corn to see which one was the winner. Shriek told me she had a lot of fun putting the kernals in little groups of ten to count them. I say any time you can make math fun go for it!

I am not going to tell you the results in case someone else wants to use this idea for their child’s project. because it really was a fun simple science project idea.

Shriek loved learning how popcorn pops and had a lot of fun putting her poster together. I am really glad she participated, even if my house still smelled of burnt popcorn for several days after the finished the project

* I am also over at Mommy Moment today talking about reward charts. I like them but they never last too long at my house. I would love some tips!

Mommy Moment

I am over at Mommy Moment today talking about my multitasking daughter Shout. Go check it out. I would love your feedback.(I’ll leave you wondering weather I rhymed that on purpose or on accident.) Because I am so mysterious like that.

The Fun Continues.

We had a really good Christmas and I hope you all did as well! The holiday is not over yet here at our house. The Umpire has the entire week off! I am so excited to spend it doing all the things that we did not fit in before Christmas.

Tomorrow my girls will be spending the day at their grandma’s house. The Mr and I will be shopping away, Going to lunch and maybe a movie. We have not been on a date for a really long time and I am naming this one the post Christmas date Extravaganza. Pretty catchy right?

As of now we have not at all recovered from Christmas the house is a mess, I know that I have eaten my entire weight in every holiday food imaginable and I feel like a could sleep for a year. but fixing all that can wait an extra day.

My girls were surprisingly sweet this year during all the mayhem and I caught them on more than one occasion being really nice to each other.

My favorite reaction was when Shout opened up the Nerf gun the Umpire got her. She was so confused! This was a boy toy how could it possibly be for her? Once opened and ready Shriek and Shout loved their nerf toys and had a lot of fun.below is a picture of them together opening up the refill pack.  Although we are not done having kids I think my husband has given up on the chance that any of them will be boys and has decided to get our girls into some of the things he loves. I say more power to him we have enough glitter and pink to last a life time!

Everything else they got was pretty girly and Squeal got a new baby doll that she drags around everywhere. Gotta love Christmas!
