The Summer of Netflix

I always have very motivated ideas at the beginning of summer. School time, chores, planned exciting activities. I had visions of this being the most productive summer ever. the one where I will accomplish everything I ever wanted to and more.

No surprise that this is not what happens. While we do play out side go swimming and accomplish some things.  Lots of my kid’s time is spent in front of the t.v and I am not just talking browsing channels here I am talking Netflix which means obscure weird shows that my girls watch marathon style so back to back.

The one they are currently obsessed with at the moment is this show made in Australia  called “H20″ about these three teens that discover they are mermaids (Gasp) I have a little secret. I have become obsessed as well.

I think I may be even more wrapped up in it then them. If I miss a part and ask them whats going on and they don’t know I even get a little annoyed. I ask questions like. Does Cleo’s boyfriend know she is mermaid yet? What magic mermaid power does Bella have? and so on.

I have even been known to google about  it. When one of my favorite characters just disappeared from the show. Seriously Lewis and Emma, why did you leave this completely obscure strange Australian show with mediocre acting???

With only five more episodes in the series for us to watch I am definitely looking forward to the break. I will start again with my unrealistic goal setting and hope gems like SheeRa and the movie The Labrynth remain undiscovered on our Netflix.

Eating Out With Kid’s

One thing I love about my crazy family is that they give me plenty of blogging material It never runs out! You just can’t make this stuff up.

For Squeals Birthday last week we decided to go to a restaurant my kid’s love and then go to a toy store and let Squeal choose a present.

My kid’s love variety and options as do I. They chose an all you can eat buffet. Once we got there and were seated we had to immediately figure out how everyone was going to get their food. This was harder than birthing all three of my children combined. We decided to split up and each take a kid and I held the Birthday girl. In what seems like about forty minutes later we all had our food.

As Shout is getting into our huge corner booth all of her food slid off of her plate and onto her seat. I am talking mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, the works. I grab her to get a new plate of food while the umpire cleans up the goopy gross mess. I come back with new food for Shout and take a seat.

What I did not realize is that Squeal had spilled a huge puddle of the most sticky glue like orange jello I had ever seen right where I sat down. The spot was bigger then a hand print! It was so thick that I immediately felt it soak into my jeans and all the way to my skin. This seriously was some kind of crazy super human jello. When I got home and changed my clothes later I realized that in the area where the jello stain was it had actually dyed my skin orange (no pictures of that, I am sure you are all disappointed)

While I was trying to wipe off the jello, Shriek was happily eating her food and ready to get more. She had been pretty independent and we were sitting close to the buffet so I just let her get food by herself. I knew the minute I heard a plate crash in the floor breaking that it was her. She felt so bad and whispered to me wondering if we would have to pay for the plate and if she would be able to get more for. The employees were so nice it about. I told her not to worry about it and we went back to eating.Nothing else too excited happened the rest of the meal besides three antsy kid’s trying to crawl out of the booth on there hands and knees. That’s always fun

The ironic thing about this whole chaotic episode was the only thing Shriek ended up eating was 2 slices of buffet pizza, so we pretty much could have gotten away with a Hot and ready from little Caesars for five dollars instead.

I think we may have eaten at our last buffet for a little while.

Wordless Wednesday: Happy Birthday Squeal!

PeekABoob!

Happy Birthday Squeal!

I love the way you always make me smile!

Love Mom.

* I am over at Mommy Moment today. How are you and your spouse different?

The Bachelor, Leprechaun Edition

I would never even know it was St. Patrick’s day if it was not for my children. I have nothing against the holiday it just isn’t something I think about. I am at home all day so it is not like I will get pinched by a million people or anything for not wearing green (Do people still do that even?)

For Shout and Shriek it is another story. They love it. Their head gets filled up with images of leprechauns roaming around our house and causing a ruckus. I went up too their room last night to put them to bed when I discovered something quite interesting. Lo and behold a trap concealed to look like like an episode of “The Bachelor” Leprechaun Edition.

Notice Barbie, Ariel, and one of the Harajuku lovers. Who do you think will get the final rose? My bet is on Barbie who is seated on a lovely chair fashioned out of Megabloks. There is a scrumptious entree of bread pieces and some spare change for the leprechaun and even a water bowl. This would not be complete without a note That says.
“Leprechaun Restaurant, Love The Girls” there is also a note next to barbie that says “Sit here”

Now I don’t know about you, but I think any leprechaun that would not go for this awesome set up would have to be out of his little leprechaun mind.

Happy St. Patrick’s day!

May or May Not Have

This morning I may or may not have locked myself out of my house right before taking Shriek to school.

I may or may not have been wearing the Umpire’s Hole filled Bob Marley t-shirt and a pair of red plaid pajama bottoms that were inside out.

When finally inside my house after having my parents come over with my spare key and feeling ready to collapse from embarrassment I may or may not have filled a bowl up with multicolored marshmallows for my kid’s so I could take a shower in peace.

So this pretty much sums up that I may or may not be the awesomest mom on the planet.
