This summer has sped by so super fast! I know I probably say that every year but goodness I cannot believe it is August already. With this month comes the panic of finding the right clothes and shoes to start school with.
It does not take much to get my girly girls excited for back to school shopping. They love to shop! What I have found is taking them one by one is a whole lot less stressful than taking them all at the same time. When I do that they don’t compare if I am able to find more clothes for a particular child at a store than for the other child. I really like to avoid tantrums at all costs.
I also like to talk to them about my budget. We do not have a super huge back to school clothes budget so I explain to them how much I am able to spend. When we are looking at items at the store I tell them if I think that is too much to spend on the item or if it’s a good price. I try to get them set up with at least three to four brand new outfits of things they can mix and match, a new backpack and one new pair of school shoes and if the budget allows some fun accessories.
We take our back to school shopping pretty serious around these parts. I love a good deal and I really want my girls to choose things they love and feel comfortable in. They are starting at a new school this year and that can be very intimidating. I am so glad I got the opportunity to shop at Gordmans. I had never been there before and was happy one was located so close to my house.
I decided to take my 7 yr old for a mommy daughter shopping trip. She was so excited to buy some new clothes. She will be starting the second grade and has great fashion sense. When walking into Gordmans I immediately loved the look of the store. It was really organized and cute. I had to hurry and walk past all of the adorable home decor items because I was trying to focus on school clothes only. I will have to return for sure, So many cute things!
My daughter is in between clothes sizes and sometimes it is hard to find things that fit her right. I was so happy when a pair of glittery turquoise skinny jeans fit her awesome. She was so excited about them! I also thought it would be fun for her to pick out some accessories to make her outfits complete. They were very affordable and she ended up choosing a darling nail polish kit to make polka dots on her nails (Hopefully I won’t hog that) and some funky neon bracelets.
She can’t wait to wear her Gordmans finds to school. I love how confidant she was in her new duds.
Some other things I liked about Gordmans were:
The childrens area, A big tv and fun seating area to entertain the kids.
The extremely friendly checker I had.
That there was so much to look at, clothes, toys, decor. They had tons of inventory.
Gordmans has a great mailing list you can sign up for to receive advance notice of sales and discount codes. I love that you receive a special discount code around your birthday, and just for signing up.
There is also a gRewards loyalty program that rewards you for every dollar you spend at Gordmans. You also receive a $10 reward for every 200 points you earn.
