What I Have Learned About Raising Girls

I have been thinking about a few things lately. No matter all the hard, stressful things going on. The crazy mornings, the sleepless nights, and all of the other trauma drama I really like my life.

A few times the last couple of months I have been on the phone with various people with the normal background of my screamette’s doing what they do best, screaming. A few of the people I have been talking to have laughed and said.

” So thats why you named your blog living The scream?”

Yes it is. I named my blog what it is for a reason. It is my mantra and describes my life truthfully and sincerely.

I don’t make my life out to be any better or glamorous than it is. Which it is not at all. Although I would love some peace and quiet mixed with less fighting over who’s littlest pet shop is who’s I really would not have my life be any other way.

The thing I have learned about girls is that everything is a big deal. Both emotions happy and sad can be portrayed at the same volume level. It is never ok to laugh at something cute they did without them thinking your making fun of them.

Events small or large are equally a big deal and should never be forgotten. Also not listening to something being said by them is a big no no.

Cuddles are important and so are words of encouragement. If you say something great about one you better darn well say something nice immediately to the other one or you are automatically accused of hating them and thinking nothing they do is good.

They give love very easily and always want a soft place to land. The reward for raising girls is bigger than ever imaginable.

Life is a complete roller coaster raising dramatic girls and can’t be described as anything different than just that.

What have you learned from raising girls, or boys?

I have learned that just as quickly as they can make my blood boil… they can make my heart melt.
