Kids Chores

I am sure this is a common problem in lots of  families. My girls hate to do chores!! Well I should not say all my girls, once taught Squeal will easily throw things in the garbage it is her favorite pastime, problem is she does not know when to stop! Everything ends up in the garbage.

We have this shoe basket by the door. The common kids chore I ask my girls to complete is to put the shoes in the basket. They never end up there in the first place! I am always tripping on them. I had been cleaning for a little while when I realized Shout was still working hard on her chore. She was very focused.  It had become a work of art. A sculpture. Also alot like the game jenga. It also made me realize that we have too many shoes.

I will call it Cleaning art.  Now how do I get them to make cleaning art  out of their extremely messy room?

    I like it…
We gave up on the shoe basket when it became clear to all that 98% of the shoes were mine….

LOL…Shoe baskets are always a good idea!
We don’t do that anymore we used to, but now they just have to put their dang shoes AWAY….

I hated chores growing up. But I seriously can’t stand a dirty house now. I wish I could get my husband to love them as much as me! I do plan on making The Boy participate with helping out.

this is a HUGE problem in our house. we have a shoe shelf by the front door- the kids can’t even kick their shoes off at the door, they’re everywhere. i don’t know which was worse- ragging on the kids all day to clean up after themselves, or doing it myself. neither is appealing!

Good job, Shout! I love her determination…and artistic flair!
