Passing on the Torch, I Mean Elf

Last year was my first time doing the infamous elf on a shelf tradition, what can I say I guess I caved into Pinterest peer pressure. While I did not go to overboard on our elf’s ventures everyday and when my girls got over the fact that our elf was a boy, it was a lot of fun. Not that I remembered to do it every day but it was still enjoyed by all.

This year my adorable growing up way too fast 10 year old came to me a week before thanksgiving with a fabulous idea. She knew I was the woman behind the elf last year and she wanted to take over the duty of moving Christopher jingles everyday to a different spot. BRILLIANT! I loved how excited this made her!

After having a 5 hour meeting about this important duty and making her sign some legal documents I agreed. I have loved watching her come up with ideas. Although it has only been a few days she is doing great and I love how it has actually helped my kids get a long so much! First off I got to witness an adorable display of her reading the book to her sisters, than every day she is so excited to see her sisters reactions to what she has done. They have no idea it is her and it is all kinds of adorableness. I will definitely keep updating you about her most recent elf on a shelf places as Christmas gets closer.

Now if only our mischievous little toddler would stop picking him up!
