Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week

Operation Christmas Child is an organization very important to me. I know I have mentioned this on here before. but since traveling with them last February to Peru to give children in need simple shoebox gifts my thoughts have been filled with these children and children all over the world that have received a shoebox filled with fun and needed items and a message that God loves them.

It is that time of year where Operation Christmas Child collects the shoeboxes and sends them all over the world. National Collection week is November 18th-25th  You can learn more information here. Trust me, packing a shoebox with your family is such a fun way to teach your kids about others in need. My girls loved it last year and we are very excited to do it again this year. It is very simple to put together and donate the boxes with collection locations all over the U.S.

This year my goal is to collect enough items to fill up at least 20 boxes and I would love your help. If you are local to Utah I would so appreciate any donations of items such as toothbrushes, small toys, candy ect. you can contact me at livingthescream @ gmail.com if your are interested in helping.  If you are not from Utah or don’t have items to donate, each box requires a donation of $7 for shipping. I have started a fundraising page  and would so appreciate your help, or you can put together your own boxes and drop them off at locations all over found here.

It never ceased to amaze me how happy these kids were that received such simple items such as socks or crayons. The influence these small presents have on the children is pretty incredible! This is a really fun way to help kids all over the world this Holiday season.

This is such a great program. My sister’s family fills and donates these boxes every year. My family works with World Vision, but this is so nice. Kids need help all over.
