Two and a half years ago I decided to start blogging. I had been looking for something to do. Something I loved that I could share with others. Starting this blog opened up a whole new world for me. Not only did I have a place to write my thoughts, but I started to make friends online. Many who have become friends I have met in person. A whole wonderful community of amazing inspiring strong women That help me every single day through the wonderful words they share on their blogs.
Mid July I attended my 2nd EVO conference ( A social Media, blogging conference) it was amazing to say the least. I came away from it with so much! It seriously was so inspiring.
- The classes were top notch, I learned so much. The speakers truly wanted to share their knowledge with us. They were phenomenal.
- Having my baby with me was a plus. I knew it would be a little harder. But she was a great icebreaker and I loved to show her off. She was also great during the classes.
- The people. I met so many bloggers I had wanted to meet. Last year I was too nervous to go up to some people and chat, that was silly. This year I got out of my bubble and was a lot more outgoing. The group of women were so talented. there was such a great energy at the conference. I seriously can’t say enough wonderful things!
One of the highlights for me was getting to hear from Derreck Kayongo from The Global Soap Project. He shared his amazing life story and about how he came up with this brilliant idea to recycle the soap from hotels that are only used once, and send it to africa where people have no access to anything like a bar of soap. We can all help by asking Hotels we stay at to donate there used Soap to The Global Soap Project.
Bloggers are such a strong dynamic amazing group of people. Here are a few pictures I wanted to share.
Top Left: Rachael From Today’s Mama and I doing the Mormon Gang Sign. Top Right: Cecily from Uppercase Woman. I Loved meeting her and having her hold Squeak while we visited. Bottom Left:Rachel from Busy Mommy Media and Bottom right: Lucrecer from Art Slam Who was also so amazing to meet and so sweet to my baby! Love these ladies!
I went away from this with so much knowledge and confidence. There is nothing like getting to be with a bunch of like minded people who all have something like blogging in common. I hope to implement what I learned into my blogging and keep on going strong.
This event was so inspiring I want to know what has inspired you lately?
