A Few Saturdays ago we celebrated Shout turning 6 with a fun, adorable Hello Kitty party. This was our first big friend party. We usually just have family over. So this was especially exciting for Shout.
I was so glad she chose a Hello Kitty theme I had a lot of fun coming up with things to do and party favors. I thought it would be adorable to make Hello Kitty headbands with bows and ears for each kid. They turned out so cute.
I used Dollar store headbands wich came in packs of 7 for a dollar, Giant furry pipe cleaners found at the craft store, and red ribbon. The wire in the pipe cleaners made it so easy to attach to the head bands we then attached the bows with safety pins. These ended up being less than a dollar per headband to make! They do kind of move around a little but nothing a few adjustments could’nt fix.
We also gave each girl a red feather boa and drew whiskers on each guest. We even had a red carpet for them to strut there stuff on. It was red wrapping paper taped to the ground.
The umpire drew the hello kitty poster that we used for pin the bow on Hello Kitty. I am so glad he is such a good artist!
Netflix has a bunch of ten minute Hello Kitty cartoon fairy tales Where Hello Kitty is the main part such as Cinderkitty and Snow kitty and the seven dwarfs. The girls loved watching the movie in all of there hello kitty gear.
We ended the party decorating Hello Kitty Cupcakes I got this idea from e How but I used a little bit different candy than suggested I loved how cute the Swedish fish looked as the bow. The kids loved making the cupcakes!
I also found Hello Kitty Pez dispensers at the dollar store and Hello Kitty tattoos at the party store. Even though I was pretty exhausted afterwards and probably won’t do friend parties every year. It was a lot of fun and I could tell Shout loved every minute.
What kind of parties have you thrown for your kids?
