Naming your baby can be really tough. The names for all my girls have not been chosen lightly and are mixed with names we love and family names that took a while to come up with. Today I am excited to share how we came up with our newest addition’s screameriffic nickname.
When I have said in the past that my girls nicknames on this blog are really and truly the sounds that my kids make a lot. I have meant it. I have had a lot of fun coming up with these names and really enjoy referring to my girls here as each one of their sounds. So naming our newest little screamette was going to be no different. I had it narrowed down to about two sound names that started with an S nothing was to be decided until she came here and we were able to hear her cute little sounds.
The names I were debating between were Shrill which sounded too mean, not a very nice nickname for a sweet baby, and Screech, which I knew everyone would associate with the super annoying character on the show I never missed an episode of while growing up. Saved By the Bell. Neither ended up working because when this baby decided to come out she made a very specific noise and it happened to start with an S
It was an undeniable Squeak! Even the nurse who obviously did not know about my blog said “oh she made a squeak. You should name her Squeak!”
We had already came up with her actual name long ago so when we heard the nurse say this we knew that is what I would be referring to her on my blog.
For this post Cardstore.com gave me the chance to customize Birth announcements for Squeak. I have never done this before with my other kids so I was super excited to have something to send to my friends and family announcing this happy occasion.
I could not believe all of the cute options of cards. There were 6 pages of choices just for the girls category alone. My favorite feature at Cardstore.com was that they let you save options of the cards you had customized so you could narrow a bunch down. Such a great feature.
I also loved the different ways to customize each card, so many fonts and colors to choose from. It was seriously so user friendly and fun.
I played with so many different options! I just loved the one we chose (pictured above) and can’t wait to send it out.
So nice to have the name chosen, both her blog one and real one, and so much fun to have neat announcements to share.
